On October 19, 2005 The Charlotte Observer reported, "Coffee Conversations, a new Mecklenburg Ministries program geared for young professionals, will kick off at 6 p.m. next Wednesday at the Dowd YMCA. The program will consist of a series of informal dialogues about the role of religion in their lives and the larger life of the Charlotte community, and provides a place to come to learn about each other's faiths, share ideas and be together. The first program, next Wednesday, will be a panel discussion with members of Muslim, Christian, Baha'i, Buddhist and Jewish faiths... The program is made possible by a grant from the Foundation for the Carolinas."
