On November 6, 2004 The Cleveland Jewish News reported, "about 75 people of differing religions and ethnicities joined the Islamic Discussion Group of Cleveland State University for an iftar dinner concluding a day of fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Three experts on the Abrahamic faiths - Islam, Christianity and Judaism - addressed the role of religion in peace and in conflict. Panel participants, Dr. Zeki Saritoprak, the Rev. Joseph Hilinski, and Rabbi Howard Ruben, admitted they had no easy solutions to the world's divisive religious and political conflicts. Still, the evening's importance was in continuing the dialogue, said Mehmet Taskan, 25, president and founder of the Islamic Discussion Group and a Muslim from Ankara, Turkey. The CSU graduate student in civil engineering hoped the organization, which seeks to foster understanding and tolerance, would repeat the event next year."
