On February 9, 2004 Religion News Service posted a press release that reported, "A delegation of European Christian leaders joined with their counterparts from the United States, Canada, Australia and Israel earlier this week to meet with top Israeli government leaders in a joint effort to draft plans for combating heightened anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism in their home communities. Heavily weighted toward European participation, the group included representatives from communities in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Sweden and Norway. The emergency meeting of Christian leaders was organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, based in Jerusalem and Chicago, and its Israeli partner, Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal. According to Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, IFCJ president and CEO, the more than 60 Christian leaders concluded the meeting by endorsing and signing a statement of solidarity, pledging to 'resist anti-Semitism in all its forms and stand by Israel during these very difficult times.'"
