On May 28, 2004 The Dallas Morning News reported, "Copying the approach of MTV's 'Rock the Vote,' an Alabama physician has created the nonprofit, nonpartisan "Redeem the Vote." He is hoping millions of young unregistered Catholics and evangelical Christians will follow popular Christian musicians to the polls. Randy Brinson, a Southern Baptist, has been active in politics for years. He's campaigned for Southern governors and Republican presidents. He also helped to start a Christian radio station that is now in 44 markets."
