Celebrations Commemorate Hindu Temple's 12th Anniversary

On April 23, 2004 Seychelles Nation Online reported, "As part of its activities to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Hindu Temple in Seychelles, the Seychelles Hindu Kovil Sangam will be organizing a series of religious celebrations on Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24,  at the temple on Quincy Street for Hindu devotees and members of the general public. All the religious observations start this morning with Ganapathy Homam, Yaga pooja, maha abishegan and special pooja and will conclude on Saturday night. The main event of sangabishegam will be at 12 noon on Saturday. To also mark the occasion, a religious cultural programme is being planned for May 1, 2004. The temple, known as Navasakthi Vinayagar to its devotees, is the only place of worship for the more than four hundred families of the Hindu faith in Seychelles."
