On February 16, 2004 the The News-Press reported, "The best way for Christians and Muslims to get along is by truly practicing what their faiths teach, Cardinal Christoph Schonborn said Monday in Naples, Florida. While not giving up the basic tenets of their respective religions, 'our common responsibility to God can bring us, in a certain way, together,' said Schonborn, 59, the archbishop of Vienna, Austria, and a close adviser to Pope John Paul II. That common responsibility includes loving one another, respecting the sanctity of life and giving to the poor, Schonborn told a standing-room-only audience of 1,020 people who gathered at St. William Catholic Church."
