Canadian Sikh Delegation to Give Money to Pakistan for Quake Relief

On January 8, 2006 the UNI reported, "An eight-member Sikh delegation from Canada will meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and hand over cheque of 4.19 lakh Canadian dollars to him as relief for the earthquake victims of Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The delegation, which visited the Golden Temple here and paid their obeisance today, will cross into Pakistan tomorrow through the Wagah border checkpost. It also carried about 25,000 dollars to be spent on the relief measures for the quake victims in Jammu and Kashmir.

Delegation members said the money has been collected under the Nankana Sahib relief fund in Canada and they wanted to personally hand over the cheque to Mr Aziz for proper utilisation of the money."
