The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today praised the U.S. House of Representatives for passing a non-binding resolution “supporting Christian, Jewish, and Muslim interfaith dialogue that promotes peace, understanding, unity, and religious freedom.”

The resolution was co-sponsored by Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Zach Wamp (R-TN). It praises a number of initiatives such as the Amman Message and a letter sent to the Pope and other Christian leaders by 138 Muslim scholars, leaders, and activists.

“CAIR fully supports the spirit and wording of this resolution,” said CAIR Legislative Director Corey Saylor. “We thank the House of Representatives for agreeing to it and hope that, as Members leave Washington for their respective campaigns, they remember its spirit of interfaith reconciliation.”
