On September 9, 2004 Chester Chronicle Newspapers reported, "A Buddhist retreat for women is opening its' doors to the public this weekend. The Taraloka Centre in Bettisfield on the Welsh border near Whitchurch will be holding an open afternoon from 2-5pm on Sunday (September 5). It's a golden opportunity for visitors to go along and see what goes on there. 'We welcome everyone in Bettisfield and the surrounding region to see what we're doing here, see the changes we've made in the last year and experience some of the serenity and beauty of a Buddhist retreat,' says Taraloka chairwoman, Saddha-nandi... Taraloka houses an international community of women. It was founded 19 years ago and now holds retreats for women from all over the world."
