On October 9, 2004 The Witcha Eagle reported, "during his 43 years as a Cambodian Buddhist monk, Phauk So sent up numerous prayers for the Cambodian community. To give Cambodian Buddhists a place to mingle and worship, Mr. So put hammer to nail in the early 1990s and helped build Wichita's only Cambodian Buddhist Temple, at 3190 S. Clifton. This week community members visited the brightly colored temple to pay their respects to Mr. So, who died Oct. 2. He was 65."
