On July 14, 2003 The News-Sentinel reported that "the group at Dhammarekkhita, a Buddhist monastery just outside the Calhoun Street and Tillman Road intersection [in Fort Wayne, TX] which serves about 1,000 Burmese immigrants and refugees, removed the hall's flooring, plywood subfloor and insulation, which were damaged after the property was flooded with more than three feet of water."
