on August 18, 2001, the St. Petersburg Times reported on His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist lama, or priest, who is planning a trip to Clearwater, Florida "to share wisdom he is said to have gained over many lifetimes...Followers believe he was known in the 13th century as the Siddha Gar Chodingpa...Further back, he is believed to have lived as an important Buddhist named Mahasiddha Aryadeva...When he comes to Clearwater, he will give a series of five talks about Buddhism at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Clearwater."
