On March 27, 2003 the Star-Ledger reported that "Born in the USA shows [Dina] Abulmagd, a 26-year-old Teaneck [NJ] resident, instructing students in her class by day and interacting socially with family and friends in the evening... The intent of the documentary, according to filmmaker Ahmed Solimon, is to portray the teacher as being no different than any one else who actively practices a religion... 'I thought it would be a good opportunity to represent Muslims and show we're contributing to society,' she said... Born in the USA had its premiere Saturday at the Regal Cinema in North Brunswick before a sellout audience. A chronicle of the lives of two American-born Muslims during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, the film is scheduled to be shown in New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. There are plans for it to eventually be released on DVD and VHS."
