On August 4, 2001, The Kansas City Star. reported that "Chuck Colson, syndicated columnist, author and founder of Prison Fellowship, will be a speaker at the 2001 Willow Creek Leadership Summit, which will be broadcast live via satellite...at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church...Across the country...more than 10,000 people are expected to gather for the event. It is designed to help pastors, volunteer leaders, church staff, board members and emerging leaders in business and the church to develop their leadership gifts, skills and responsibilities...The Kansas City Shambhala Buddhist Center will be one of 150 Shambhala centers around the world that will simultaneously celebrate the consecration of the largest stupa in North America, in the northern Colorado Rockies...The stupa is an architectural representation of the Buddha."
