Arrests Follow Arson at Washington Mosque

On November 2, 2001, The Seattle Times reported, "Three arrested in connection with arson at mosque." The article noted, "Police found broken windows and a curtain and door charred at the Masjid Omar Al-Farooq Mosque shortly after midnight. Witnesses said several people were seen running from the scene. A police dog led officers to a nearby home where the three were arrested after questioning...It is being considered a hate crime, said Mountlake Terrace Police Commander Mike Mitchell."
