AMRITSAR: Despite rising number of incidents of hate crimes against Sikhs in various parts of world, post 9/11, a white US national who had embraced Sikhism about 35 years ago avidly supports the turban.
Not stopping at this, he has started delivering lectures in US churches to generate awareness about the significance of a turban in a Sikh's life.
His relatives and friends, who initially differed with him, had to ultimately bow before his dogged determination and are now helping to further his cause.
Ralph Singh, who graduated from Rochester university, could well be an example of commitment to Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and other Sikh organisations working to restore the pride of turban in countries where Sikhs are not allowed to support them.
