In Alabama, a Headscarf Means no Driver's License

On January 22, 2004 Huntsville News 19 reported on the case of Rubina Khan, a Muslim woman unable to acquire a new driver's license because of Alabama laws requiring that women remove their headscarves for photographs. As of January 7th, the state has begun cracking down on the law banning head coverings in license photographs.
