People living in Leicester have been offered safety advice by police ahead of the city's Diwali celebrations.
Up to 40,000 people are expected to attend the lights switch-on in Belgrave Road on Sunday.
Diwali greetings cards are being sent out by Leicestershire Police to homes in the Belgrave area outlining how to keep homes and belongings safe.
Officers said they did not want opportunist thieves taking advantage of the occasion to blight celebrations.
