On September 7, 2003 the Daily Republic in Fairfield-Suisun City, CA, reported on the second annual Punjabi Heritage Festival in Solano County, CA: "More than 1,000 people attended the event that offered a glimpse of the growing Sikh community within Solano County. The night was dedicated to the victims and heroes of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks...Since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks the nation is much stronger and the crowd that gathered on Texas Street Saturday night shows a community coming together, he [Devinder Wadyal, one of the participants] said."
