Mission

Kapamagogopa is an interfaith organization whose mission is to help create and sustain communities within the Philippines that are peaceful, prosperous and self-reliant. They intend to train volunteers to develop skills to foster peace and development. They also strive to promote better understanding and harmonious relationships between and amongst different faiths.

History

On the 20th of April, 2004 Kapamagogopa Incorporated was first conceptualized and developed as a Muslim Volunteering Organization with the help of the Ulamas, NGOs, local leaders and Muslim scholars.

Description

Kapamagogopa is a Maranao word for sharing. This non-profit organization works in areas where there is still tension between the Muslim and Christian Filipino communities. KI also works in poverty-stricken areas.

Programs and Events

Kapamagogopa's programs include capacity building, volunteer placement, networking, advocacy, and interfaith dialogue. These programs are focused in four different areas:
1. Improving Muslim-Christian relations.
2. Improving the community's access to proper health care and sanitation.
3. Developing self-sufficient livelihoods.
4. Developing sustainable natural resources for the community.
