Women in the World Conference- Climate Change and Faith Community

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 (All day)

745 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215, USA

Since 1985, the Anna Howard Shaw Center has hosted an annual spring conference to explore experiences of women’s ministries in the church and society. The conference provides opportunities for women to hear women preach, share testimonies in ministerial and multicultural leadership, and develop networks of support with one another.

This year's theme is "Am I the Earth's Keeper: Climate Change and Faith Community." Dr. Rebecca Copeland, Assistant Professor of Theology, will be giving the keynote address. We will have breakout workshop times where leaders in this field will be offering their wisdom and experience relating to the work they do to build communities that respond to taking care of our neighborhoods and the earth. Topics around environmental justice, ecological action, and community engagement will be addressed.

As we celebrate 40 years of the Anna Howard Shaw Center, we would like to honor Dean Mary Elizabeth Moore as the the Anna Howard Shaw Award Recipient at our Banquet.

Cost: Free for students, $25 for others. Location: Boston University School of Theology: 745 Commonwealth Ave., Community Center, Basement B23/24
