Vigil Against Hate

Date:

Wednesday, August 16, 2017 (All day)

Location:

Monument Square, Concord, MA 01742, USA
Join us at the birthplace of the Revolution to stand against the tyranny of hate. In the wake of the horrific events on Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia, Concord will come together for a vigil celebrating love for all. The fear, divisiveness, and intolerance that we have seen are not - and have never been - the values we support in this town. Through candlelight, song, prayer and speech we will come together to show our commitment to people of all colors, creeds and identities. Join us. Logistics: Pizza will be provided for children and they are all most welcome. Facilities: Please note that Holy Family church has kindly offered to welcome guests for quiet reflection and bathroom use until 8 pm. Thank you to the staff there for their generosity. Please make sure to leave it as you found it. Families and children: While this is a family event, we encourage you to use your best judgement about safety at a public gathering. Code of Conduct: If you are making signs, please remember that this is a vigil of peace. It is NOT about political persuasion, but about human issues of tolerance, kindness and love. Please refrain from inflammatory language that is divisive in nature.
