Attendees are encouraged to share alcohol-free vegetarian food (no meat or shellfish) from their own background. Pluralism Project Summary: On the afternoon of May 7, 2017, members of Temple Shir Tikvah, members of the Islamic Center of Boston – Wayland, and other interested community members gathered together to celebrate their traditions and religions with music and food. Attendees were encouraged to bring people of all ages, —including children—in order to advance interfaith knowledge and understanding at a young age. They enjoyed performances from Cantor Beth Levin of Temple Shir Tikvah, who performed a selection of Jewish music, and visiting musicians, who performed classical South Asian Islamic music. After the concert, attendees enjoyed a potluck feast comprised of non-alcoholic and vegetarian hors d’oeuvres and desserts from the different traditions represented at the event. This social hour coincided with the sun setting over the pond adjacent to Temple Shir Tikvah— a beautiful end to a meaningful, inspiring, and captivating event. This summary was written by a Pluralism Project staff member who attended the event.
