In 1979, the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky was designated a refugee resettlement site in the United States. Since the initial beginnings of refugee resettlement, many diverse populations have established themselves and their cultures in the south central Kentucky area. As these immigrant populations continue to grow, many form their own religious centers, while others struggle to maintain their religious traditions in a new context.
