Los Cubanos de Harvard Documentary
In the year 1900, more than half of all Cuban public school teachers traveled to Cambridge to participate in a Summer School organized by Harvard. The people of Cambridge contributed over $70,000 to finance the visit and in turn, Harvard offered courses free of charge to the nearly 1,300 teachers. The project became the largest cultural exchange that has ever existed between the two countries. In 2016, Cuban journalist and documentarian Danny González Lucena conducted archival research and interviews, culminating in the documentary Los Cubanos de Harvard.
