Welcome

The First-Year Enrichment Program will not be offered in Wintersession 2020. Information about Wintersession, including progamming, may be found on the Wintersession website

Information provided on this FEP page relates to offerings of FEP in prior years. First-year students seeking resources offered in FEP have many options: make an appointment with your Resident Dean, utilize the services at the Academic Resource Center, meet with your First-Year Librarian, and sign up for an individual advising meeting with staff of the Advising Programs Office.

What is FEP?

The First-Year Enrichment Program (FEP) is a 3-day program providing a structured opportunity for first-year students to reflect on their first term at Harvard and look ahead. FEP provides first-year students an opportunity to reflect on the fall semester with peers, faculty, and advisers, develop strategies about activating campus resources, and develop skills for the semesters ahead. The program includes workshops such as time management, public speaking, and academic reading strategies, reflective discussions on Harvard and on purpose and values in college, and a conversation about success led by Dean Rakesh Khurana. Participants will also be matched for an individualized advising consultation with Residents Deans of First-Year Students, Bureau of Study Counsel academic counselors, and other experienced advisers.

Why do FEP?

FEP is designed to help you strengthen the foundation you have built so far at Harvard, make the most of the spring semester, and develop your plans and goals for now and into the future. Through these interactive sessions, participants will assess personal values to determine how to focus energy and time while at Harvard and develop skills to better manage academic and personal priorities, all in the setting of a small group of peers.

Whether your fall semester was great, difficult, challenging, or all of the above, consider attending FEP as you build your Harvard experience.

When and where is FEP?

Participants will be assigned a three-day session during Wintersession; either Tuesday, January 22 - Thursday, January 24 or Thursday, January 24 - Saturday, January 26.  Activities will take place in and around Harvard Yard. The dorms are open and all meals will be provided.
